Introduction
Who will run for President in 2008? We are at the time that red states, and blue states, and those in-between must focus directly on children, their education, their health, and their welfare. Candidates must have a specific and enforceable national agenda that places children at the head of the money train. No generalities, no games. Platforms must set forth remedies to address disparity between rich and poor, have universal Pre-K, combine health care delivery with education, define what teachers must know before being licensed, and unambiguously specify the special education process. That process must provide a variety of representational services when disputes arise, the manner in which they will be funded, exactly who will provide them, and under what circumstances.
We are a Nation At Risk, America more endangered now by its failed education system than when first examined in 1983. Read the original report for yourself (

Children our future in 2008,
One year to work, before it’s too late.
As presidential candidates begin to campaign, I’ll comment on their position and records of achievement on specific educational issues, including special education.
